At approximately 11:35 a.m., Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 1 officers and Bomb Squad-EOD responded to the 500 block of East Ohio Street for reports that a grenade was located on a porch.
Officers began evacuating people in the area. The Bomb Squad-EOD determined that it was an inert training grenade and was not live.
After it was determined there was no risk to the public, those evacuated were allowed back inside at approximately 12:15 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
