Police Investigate Male Shot in Knoxville

Just before 11 p.m., Zone 3 officers responded to the UniMart in the 700 block of Brownsville Rd. for reports of a male shot.

Arriving units located the victim inside the store suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower leg. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The early investigation shows the incident occurred at a different location and the male ran into the store for help.

The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process evidence at the scene. Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
