Police Investigate Homicide in Lawrenceville

At 3:45 p.m. , Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 2 responded to Butler St. between 50th and 51st Street for reports of shots fired following an altercation outside a gas station.

Arriving units located a male on the ground beside a vehicle. He had suffered a gunshot wound(s) to the chest. A bystander rendered aid, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.

The other male involved in the dispute that led to shots fired called 911 and is being questioned at police headquarters.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

The investigation is ongoing.
