Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Middle Hill District

Zone 2 officers responded to a 911 call at a store in the 2200 block of Centre Ave. after a male employee reported being robbed at gunpoint at approximately 11:45 p.m.

The male suspect fled the scene on foot carrying a backpack. Officers engaged in a brief foot chase, but lost sight of him. A drone unit and a K9 team assisted in the search, and officers cleared an abandoned apartment building the suspect was believed to have entered, with negative results.

The actor got away with about $200 in cash and several vapes. The victim was not hurt.

Police will work to secure any possible video footage. The investigation is ongoing.
