Police Arrest Male in Hazelwood Armed Robbery

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 were dispatched to the 5000 block of 2nd Ave. in Hazelwood for a reported armed robbery of a business at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Responding officers located the male suspect walking a short distance away and engaged in a foot pursuit that ended in the 300 block of Renova St., where he was tased and taken into custody. A firearm was recovered.

Mobile Crime and Violent Crime Unit detectives responded to the scene to investigate.

Medics transported the actor to the hospital to be cleared medically before he was taken for questioning at police headquarters.

James Tinsley, 36, of Pittsburgh was arrested and charged with Robbery, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and Possessing Instruments of Crime.

He is being held at the ACJ.
