At approximately 9:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Bureau of Police zone 1 officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Federal Street for a reported altercation and stabbing.
Preliminary information indicates an altercation occurred involving three individuals. Two adult male suspects reportedly assaulted an adult male victim with a baseball bat and stabbed him in the head.
The victim self-transported to the nearby Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS station, where he was evaluated by paramedics and transported to the hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
The SWAT team was requested to respond to a residence on the 2100 block of Koerner Avenue, where the two suspects are believed to be located. The drone and K9 unit were also deployed to assist with the search. No suspects were located inside.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
