Just before noon, Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Highland Avenue in Shadyside for a reported robbery.

Upon arrival, officers were informed by an employee that two masked juvenile males entered the store. The juveniles reportedly pepper-sprayed the employee while brandishing a suspected firearm, stole merchandise, and then fled the scene.

The employee sustained a minor elbow cut from glass that broke during the altercation. The employee denied medical treatment and transport.

The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process the scene, and Violent Crime Unit Detectives are actively reviewing CCTV footage.

The investigation is ongoing.
