At approximately 11:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were responding to an unrelated call when officers were approached by a witness reporting a vehicle-versus-bicyclist collision at the intersection Columbo Street and North Fairmount Avenue in the Garfield neighborhood.
According to witnesses, an adult male was riding a bicycle when he was stuck by a white van. The driver reportedly exited the vehicle briefly before fleeing the scene, continuing north on Columbo Street.
Officers immediately rendered first aid to the victim, who had sustained head injuries. Pittsburgh EMS transported the adult male to a local hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
