Pittsburgh Fire Battles 3-Alarm Fire in Allentown, 13 Displaced

Published on April 19, 2026

Just after 5 a.m., Pittsburgh Fire was dispatched to the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue for a residential structure fire that quickly grew to three alarms.
The main fire house had been unoccupied and condemned in March. There were no reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters.
A total of 13 people were displaced from two homes. The American Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania will assist them with services and temporary housing.
Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS paramedics evaluated two people on scene, but both refused transport to the hospital.
City building inspectors from PLI are evaluating the affected structures.
Fire Investigation Unit detectives will work to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Many thanks to the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services of Western Pennsylvania for their on scene support.
