Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Respond to Shooting in Brighton Heights

At approximately 9:30 p.m., the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police zone 1 officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Fleming Avenue for a single 16-round shot spotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. Preliminary information indicates an altercation broke out between two adult males in the street at which point shots were fired. An adult male suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS transported the adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the hospital in stable condition.

A short time later, officers located the suspect on the 3100 block of Wadlow Street and took him into custody.

The mobile crime unit responded to process the scene and recovered a firearm.

Violent Crime Unit Detectives are leading an active and ongoing investigation.
