VCU Detectives Investigate after Deceased Male Located in Uptown

Just after 12 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 were dispatched to the area of Fifth Ave. and Kirkpatrick St. for reports of a body found in a wooded area behind a bus stop.

Arriving units located a deceased male in his 50s. There were no obvious signs of trauma and no clear indication of exactly how long his body had been at that location before he was discovered.

Mobile Crime Unit detectives processed evidence at the scene. 

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office  will release cause and manner of death.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
