At 12:50 a.m., EMS, Fire, and Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Beechwood Blvd. between Beechwood Ln. and Gettysburg St. for a single vehicle rollover crash with four teenage occupants.
Arriving units located three males who had managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle, while a fourth male remained pinned inside. Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
One male passenger was transported to the hospital in critical condition, while the male driver and another male passenger were transported in stable condition.
Beechwood Blvd. was closed in both directions between Hastings St. and Reynolds St. while the Collision Investigation Unit completed its work.
The investigation is ongoing.
In the upcoming weeks, the City's Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team, which includes the Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit, will complete a site visit to evaluate potential crash factors. Following the site visit, additional updates will be made available on the Vision Zero Working Group's Engage Page.
