At approximately 4:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 were dispatched to the 100 block of Craig Street in North Oakland for a welfare check for an adult male who was shouting incoherently inside of a gas station/convenience store.

The male was in the employee-only area/office space behind the counter, with the door locked. The male also had in his possession a wooden staff with a metal pointed tip that he had brought with him.

While in the office space, the male had damaged multiple pieces of computer equipment, including monitors, scanners, and a tablet.

After several attempts to gain entry and multiple hails for the male to come out, he was taken into custody. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital for medical clearance.

Upon his release, charges are expected.
