At approximately 6:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from the Downtown Public Safety Center, Pittsburgh EMS, and Pittsburgh Fire were dispatched to the Gateway Center, at Stanwix Street and Liberty Avenue in the Central Business District, for reports of an assault.
Arriving responders located an adult female victim who reported that she had been assaulted by two adult female actors. The victim sustained a laceration to her forehead and reported to officers that her phone was stolen during the incident.
She was conscious, alert, and speaking with officers and medics, and was transported by Pittsburgh EMS in serious but stable condition to an area hospital.
Officers were informed that an interaction took place between the victim and the actors—who were known to each other—prior to the assault taking place.
The two actors fled the area on foot and were reported to be headed down Liberty Avenue toward Sixth Street.
Detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
