At approximately 3:00 a.m., Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 2 officers responded to the 2400 block of Bedford Avenue for a reported shooting.
Preliminary information indicates the adult male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back. Officers immediately rendered first aid measures until Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS arrived. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased at approximately 3:40 a.m.
Homicide detectives are on scene. The mobile crime unit responded to process the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
