Detectives Investigating Shooting in Homewood West, Two Injured

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police Zone 5 officers were on a proactive patrol when they heard shots fired in the vicinity of North Dallas Avenue and Kelly Street in the city’s Homewood West neighborhood.

Officers canvassed the area and located an adult female victim with a gunshot wound to her leg. The victim was conscious, alert, and speaking with officers and medics. She was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.

A short time later, an adult male walked into West Penn Hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. He is also listed in stable condition.

The initial investigation indicates both victims sustained their injuries in the aforementioned shooting incident.

The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process the scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
