At approximately 7:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3, Pittsburgh Fire, and Pittsburgh EMS were dispatched to S. 28th Street at Sidney Street in the South Side Flats for reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

Arriving responders located an adult male victim in the roadway with injuries consistent with having been struck by a vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital by Pittsburgh EMS in critical condition.

Witnesses told officers that the male victim had been working an outdoor event and staffing a nearby barricade when an unauthorized vehicle entered the area and struck both the victim and the barricade.

The vehicle, believed to be driven by an adult male actor, then fled the scene.

A short time later, the vehicle was located abandoned in the 4700 block of Baum Boulevard. It was recovered and will be processed for additional evidence.
