At approximately 2:00 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 were called to the intersection of East Ohio Street and East Street in East Allegheny for a reported fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
Arriving officers located an adult male victim in the roadway with severe trauma to his head. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Witnesses describe the male victim exiting a silver pickup truck—travelling eastbound on East Ohio Street—before the same vehicle then struck the victim. The truck then fled the scene, continuing on East Ohio Street before making a left onto Madison Avenue.
The Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene to process evidence. They are continuing the investigation.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.
