UPDATE: Kien Carpenter, 34, of Pittsburgh was arrested in connection with this incident. He faces numerous charges including attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person. He remains in the Allegheny County Jail.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 responded to the 400 block of Jonathan Court in Point Breeze North for reports of shots fired.
Arriving officers located an adult male victim inside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was transported in critical condition by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital, where he was immediately taken into surgery.
The initial investigation indicates the situation began as a domestic altercation.
An adult male was taken to Police Headquarters for questioning. At this time, there is no ongoing risk to the public.
The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
