Just before 2:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to Locust Street at Pride Street in the Bluff neighborhood for reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

Arriving responders located an adult female victim in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle. She sustained significant trauma to her leg and was transported by Pittsburgh EMS in critical, but stable, condition.

The initial investigation indicates that the female victim was standing on the south side sidewalk of Locus Street when she stepped backwards into the road and into an oncoming pickup truck with an attached flatbed trailer.

The adult male driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.

The Collision Investigation Unit was called to process the scene. They are continuing to investigate.
