Police Investigate Shooting Incident in Brighton Heights

Just before 2:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 were dispatched to the 1500 block of Antrim Street in the Brighton Heights neighborhood for a three-round ShotSpotter alert.

While en route, dispatch updated officers that an adult female shooting victim was located in the 3200 block of Richardson Avenue.

Arriving officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. They rendered aid until medics arrived at the scene. Pittsburgh EMS then transported the victim in critical condition to an area hospital.

A short time later, an adult female arrived by private vehicle to Allegheny General Hospital with a stab wound to the leg.

Both females were immediately taken into surgery.

Both women are believed to have been involved in an altercation that took place at the original crime scene prior to the shooting.

The Pittsburgh Police Auto Squad will tow the private vehicle to their garage for processing.

Mobile Crime Unit detectives are processing evidence at the crime scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
