At approximately 11:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to general area of Brushton Avenue at Mohler Street in Homewood North for four separate ShotSpotter alerts totaling 31 rounds. The ShotSpotter notifications covered several blocks—from Ferris Court to Stranahan Street.
Arriving officers located an adult male lying on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Mohler Street with a gunshot wound to his right ankle. Officers rendered aid until medics arrived. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.
Several homes and vehicles in the vicinity sustained bullet damage. No additional injuries were reported.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process all evidence at the scene, including recovered shell casings and available video footage.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
