At approximately 2:50 p.m., Pittsburgh Bureau of Police from Zone 3 responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of Brownsville Road and W Woodford Avenue.

Reportedly, a vehicle driving down Brownsville Road began sliding before colliding with a pole. The vehicle continued sliding and struck a 17-year-old female standing on the sidewalk. The driver remained on scene.

Upon arrival, Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS Paramedics began CPR and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing.

In the upcoming weeks, the City's Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team, which includes the Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit, will complete a site visit to evaluate potential crash factors. Following the site visit, additional updates will be made available on the Vision Zero Working Group's Engage Page.
