Just before 8:15 a.m., the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to the 100 block of Monastery Avenue for reports of a structure fire.

Firefighters arriving to the house found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the three-story residence. The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

A second alarm was called just after 9:00 a.m. and the fire was deemed under control at approximately 9:45 a.m.

While working the fire, four firefighters came into contact with an electrical current and were transported by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital for medical evaluation. All are in stable condition and all are expected to be released shortly.

While the initial investigation indicates the fire started towards the rear of the structure, Fire Investigation Unit detectives arrived to the scene and are working to determine the exact cause.

The fire was contained within the single structure. No civilian injuries were reported.
