Helicopter Lifts Scheduled for Downtown on February 8, 2025

The Department of Public Safety is alerting the public to scheduled road closures this weekend, as cooling units are hoisted by helicopter onto the top of a building Downtown.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, - weather permitting - the helicopter will perform five separate lifts.

Beginning at 6:30 a.m., the closures are as follows:

Liberty Ave. will be between Smithfield St. & Grant St.

Tenth St. from Exchange Way to Liberty

William Penn Seventh Ave. to Liberty Ave. (Drury Hotel traffic only)

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. the closure is as follows:

Grant Street from Seventh Ave. to Liberty Ave.

The operation is expected to last until10 a.m. Public Safety will advise when all roads have reopened.
