At approximately 6:15 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zones 4 and 5 were dispatched to the 6200 block of Penn Avenue in East Liberty for reports of a shooting.
Arriving officers located an adult male victim standing on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his upper left leg.
He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses describe some kind of confrontation taking place between the victim and a male actor in the 6100 block of Penn Avenue before the shooting took place. The actor fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene, including a recovered shell casing.
Detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
