Violence Prevention Unit Arrests Four,Recovers Firearms During Patrols

Summary:
On July 8, 2024, Violence Prevention Unit (VPU) detectives were on proactive patrol in Allentown following complaints of recent shots fired incidents and multiple robberies in the area.
Detectives conducted a traffic stop at Millbridge St. and Lillian St. where marijuana was immediately observed in the vehicle, as well as a firearm on the front passenger seat floorboard.
The three occupants were removed from the vehicle and detained.
Two more firearms were observed under the driver's seat. The vehicle was towed and a search warrant yielded the three initial firearms, as well as an AK-47 from a duffel bag located under a rear passenger seat.
Kameran William-Carter, 20, Samuel Johnson, 20, and one juvenile were arrested.
William-Carter and Johnson were each charged with firearms offenses. They were transported to the Allegheny County Jail without incident.
The juvenile was transported by juvenile probation to a detention facility.
On July 11, VPU detectives working in the area of Fifth Ave. and Market St. Downtown arrested a male in possession of a stolen gun.
The firearm was confirmed stolen out of West Mifflin, PA.
Deontae Bates, 18, is charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Carrying a Firearm Without a License.
He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
