At 9:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Fire responded to a 3-alarm residential structure fire at 915 Gibson Street. The house was vacant at the time of the fire. The roof collapsed and the attic space was consumed by the flames.
Two adults were displaced from a neighboring structure that received moderate damage. The Red Cross responded to assist with services.
There was no one in the other adjacent house, which appeared to be under construction at the time.
There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters, although one firefighter was transported to the hospital in stable condition for evaluation after feeling ill from the extreme heat.
The Fire Investigation Unit will examine the exact cause of the fire, which remains under investigation.
