Date: February 13, 2024 Incident Type: Collision Location: Zone 3 Summary:
Just before 9:15 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3, EMS, and Fire responded to Route 51/Sawmill Run Blvd. at Library Road for a collision between a tractor trailer and a vehicle.
The male driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital in critical condition by Medic 2. The tractor trailer driver refused any medical attention.
The initial investigation shows the vehicle was traveling southbound when it struck the tractor trailer that was heading northbound.
The Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene.
Sawmill Run was closed for several hours during the investigation, but has since reopened.
