Police Investigate Overnight Shooting in Mount Washington, One Injured

Summary:

Just before 10:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Police were dispatched to the unit block of Estella Avenue in Mount Washington for an eleven-round ShotSpotter alert.

A short time later, an adult male victim presented at Pittsburgh EMS Medic 8 station off Proctor Way with a single gunshot wound to his upper back. He was transported to an area hospital by Pittsburgh Medic 2 in stable condition.

The victim had driven himself to the medic station and the vehicle had sustained gunfire damage. In the backseat was a 5-year-old female child. She was unharmed and returned safely to the care of her family.

A dark-colored Dodge Durango with PA plates MBR-9566 was seen fleeing the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call Police Headquarters at 412-323-7800.

Several other vehicles in the vicinity of the scene also sustained bullet damage.

The Mobile Crime Unit arrived to process evidence at both the scene at Estella Avenue and the victim vehicle outside the medic station.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
