Police Investigate Home Invasion with Carjacking in Knoxville

Summary:

Just before 12:30 a.m. Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 responded to the 100 block of Orchard Place for a reported home invasion.

An adult male victim and an adult female victim were inside the residence when approximately 3-5 male actors forced entry into the house. One of the actors was carrying a rifle and two others brandished handguns.

The male victim was pistol-whipped by the actors. He was evaluated by medics on-scene, but was not transported. The female victim sustained superficial facial injuries. She denied medical care.

The actors stole $200 in cash, a handgun, and car keys from the victims. They then stole the victim's car to flee the scene.

The stolen vehicle is described as a blue Honda Accord. It was recovered a short time later in Arnold. The actors had fled by the time officers arrived.

Zone 3 detectives are continuing the investigation.
