Police and Fire Respond to Vehicle and Train Collision Near Waterworks

Summary:

Just after 6:00 a.m., Police and Fire responded to the railroad tracks on Freeport Road at the entrance to the water treatment plant.

A vehicle was attempting to cross the tracks into the facility when the train struck the vehicle on the passenger side.

The driver, an adult male, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was alert, conscious, and speaking with responders on scene. He declined all medical care.

The tracks were briefly closed while the scene was cleared. Railroad Police will investigate the collision.
