Pittsburgh Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Crawford-Roberts

Summary:

Just before 8:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Marion Street along the Crawford-Roberts and Bluff neighborhood border for a ten-round ShotSpotter alert.

Arriving responders located three victims with gunshot wounds in the street. One adult male was transported by Pittsburgh EMS in grave condition. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.

A second adult male victim and the third victim, an adult female, were both transported in critical condition with significant injuries. Both were immediately taken into surgery.

Witnesses describe some kind of altercation taking place on Fifth Avenue before an adult male actor opened fire on the three victims. Statements indicate the actor then fled the scene on foot, heading north on Vine Street towards Colwell Street.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene, including recovered shell casings and all available video footage from area cameras.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
