Police, Fire, and EMS Respond to Person Hit by Train in South Side

Summary:

Just before 6:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the railroad tracks directly underneath the bridge where South 12th Street meets Brosville Street in the South Side for a reported pedestrian struck by a train.

Arriving responders located an adult male victim on the tracks. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process the scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives and CSX Police will investigate the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
