Pittsburgh Fire Responds to 2-Alarm Fire in Carrick

Summary:

At 7:07 p.m., the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire was dispatched to a commercial and residential structure in the 2500 block of Brownsville Road.

The response grew to two alarms. Firefighters rescued a male from one of the second floor apartments. He was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Medics also transported three firefighters from Engine 23 who were experiencing heat exhaustion. Firefighters were met with hoarding conditions in part of the residential portion of the structure.

The Fire Investigation Unit was called in to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
