Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire Responds to Two-Alarm Fire in Sheraden

Firefighters were dispatched to 1000 Tweed Street at 7:10 p.m. on May 28, 2024 for reports of a residential fire.

The fire spread to 1004 Tweed Street and a second alarm was called just after 7:20 p.m.

An adult male was the sole occupant in 1000 Tweed Street. He exited the residence out of a second-floor window onto the porch roof, from where he jumped to the ground as fire crews arrived on scene.

He sustained a broken leg and was transported to an area hospital by Pittsburgh EMS.

The fire was called under control just before 8:00 p.m.

The cause was determined to be an accidental cooking fire.
