On Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 6:20 a.m., Pittsburgh Fire was notified that heavy smoke conditions were discovered by construction workers who arrived on scene at the vacant Beltzhoover school at 320 Cedarhurst, which is currently being refurbished. Firefighters located and extinguished a fire in a first floor room.
On Tuesday, June 4, at 8:05 p.m. Pittsburgh Fire was dispatched to the same address for a structure fire. They located the flames in a rear room facing Sylvania Street. The fire caused significant damage to the room.
No one was injured in either fire.
The Fire Investigation Unit is asking that anyone with information, or possible home security video, contact the FIU office at (412) 782-7646.
