Date: August 23, 2024 Incident Type: Location: Zone 1 Summary:
At approximately 3:15 p.m., Zone 1 plainclothes detectives were conducting surveillance for a felony drug warrant suspect in the area of Shadeland Ave. and Etola St. when they observed the male get into a vehicle.
When detectives attempted to take him into custody, the suspect rammed into multiple vehicles as he fled from police.
In total, three civilian vehicles and two unmarked police vehicles were damaged at the scene, with one police vehicle rendered undriveable.
An officer who was inside one of the vehicles that was hit was transported to the hospital to be evaluated for back and leg pain.
The suspect vehicle was located unoccupied on Colorado Street.
The search for the suspect continues and anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
