Detectives Investigate Attempted Purse Snatching in Sheraden

Zone 6 officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Allendale Street on October 20, 2024 for an attempted robbery and assault.

The female victim told police she had arrived home from work just after 3:45 a.m. and parked her vehicle on the parking pad behind her house when she saw two males walking down Felbinger Way toward her. When she turned to go into her house, one of the males tried to grab her purse from behind her, yanking on the strap, which was around the victim's neck. He then hit her in the head with an open hand, knocking off her glasses as he continued trying to pull it away from her.

The suspect eventually gave up and ran off, along with the other male who had stayed in the alley during the theft attempt. The two ran down Felbinger Way towards Stanhope Street.The victim denied medical treatment. 

The suspect is described as a young male, 5'5", skinny, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes with a red Nike swoosh.
