Child Taken to Hospital After Collision with Police Motorcycle

Summary:

Just before 1:30 p.m., a 3-year-old girl was struck by a Pittsburgh Police motorcycle unit at Stanwix Street and Blvd. of the Allies.

The girl suffered some bruises, but she was alert and oriented when EMS Medic 14 transported her to Children's Hospital in stable condition to be evaluated for any other injuries.

Witnesses reported that the child jumped out of her stroller and into the bike's path. The parade was over at the time of the accident.

Blvd. of the Allies was closed between Market Street and Stanwix Street while the Collision Investigation Unit was on scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
