UPDATE: Pittsburgh Police have arrested Matthew Pistelli, 54, in connection with this incident. He is charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Criminal Mischief, Unauthorized Use of Automobiles, and Trespass by Motor Vehicle.

On Sunday evening, February 12th, Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 took a theft report at the Turner Cemetery in the 3400 block of Beechwood Blvd. in the Squirrel Hill/Greenfield area of the city.

A caretaker reported that a church bell valued at approximately $2000 dollars had been stolen from the property.

Just before 5:30 a.m. on February 15, a resident observed the bell on the street in the 900 block of Parkwood Road near St. Clair Village. Zone 3 officers responded to the scene and contacted the cemetery officials who responded to retrieve the property.

Police will be utilizing all available camera footage to aid in their investigation.
