Male Arrested After Throwing Metal Object at Police Station Doors

Summary:

Just after 9 p.m., a metal object was thrown through the front doors at the Zone 2 police station at 2000 Centre Avenue, shattering the glass.

Camera footage showed a male throw the object and then flee on foot towards Dinwiddie Street. Officers canvassed the area and located the actor a short time later. He was arrested and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

Access to the station from Centre Avenue is closed to the public until Public Works can board up the door.

Anyone needing to file a report or speak to police can come to the back entrance of Zone 2.
