Construction Worker Rescued after Fall from Height Downtown

Summary:

Just after 8:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS responded for reports of a male construction worker who fell from the 26th to the 24th floor of a building under construction in the 600 block of Washington Place downtown.

He suffered an open fracture to his right leg and was experiencing some abdominal pain, as well as a shoulder and an elbow injury. The patient was conscious and alert when he was transported to Mercy Hospital by EMS.

Rescue workers utilized the crane on site to bring him down to safety in a stokes basket.

EMS Rescue 2 and multiple EMS units, as well as Police and Fire, responded to the scene.
