Pedestrian Route Near Duquesne University to Undergo Renovations
Pittsburgh, PA – Major repairs to the Bluff Street steps, a vital pedestrian route connecting the Armstrong Tunnel entrance to Bluff Street near Duquesne University, will begin on Friday, December 27, 2024. The project is expected to last until Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The steps, frequently used by South Side residents and Duquesne students, will be fully closed for the duration of the repairs. While disruptions will be minimal for most residents, those who regularly use the steps are advised to plan alternative routes.
Mayor Ed Gainey emphasized the importance of investing in the city's infrastructure: "Maintaining and repairing our city steps is essential to ensuring safe, reliable access for pedestrians who use these routes every day."
