Reminder: City of Pittsburgh Garbage and Recycling Collection Resumes Monday

Pittsburgh, PA – After refuse and recycling collection was suspended this past week following Sunday’s snowstorm, the Department of Public Works Environmental Services is reminding city residents that collections will resume Monday, February 2, 2026 as outlined in the regular Collection Schedule and Newsletter, which is distributed to all city households and available online

City residents can also check their next collection of refuse and recycling by visiting Pgh.st and typing in their address and zip code.

All households will have garbage collection on their regular day this week.

Since recycling collection is biweekly, any household whose recycling collection was this past week (from January 26-30, 2026) will have their next collection the week of February 9.

Any household whose recycling collection is planned for this week (February 2-6, 2026) will be collected this week on their normal day.

Residents are asked to shovel and salt their set-out location so that Environmental Services crews can safely and easily access the bins.
