Mayor O'Connor Brings Back “Love Your Block”, Investing in 17 Community-Led Neighborhood Projects

Pittsburgh, PA – Mayor Corey O'Connor today announced the recipients of the 2026 "Love Your Block" grants, awarding funding to 17 community organizations for neighborhood-led projects that combat blight, improve public spaces, and strengthen communities across Pittsburgh.

Administered by the Office of Community Affairs within the Mayor's Office, "Love Your Block" provides reimbursement grants of $500, $1,000, and a limited number of $1,500 awards to support volunteer-driven projects that beautify neighborhoods, create community assets, and bring neighbors together.

The program returns in 2026 after a one-year pause. This year's application cycle received 44 applications from more than 30 neighborhoods throughout the city. The Office of Community Affairs selected 17 projects for funding, and Mayor O'Connor personally called several awardees to share the news.

"The best ideas for our neighborhoods come from the people who know them best," said Mayor O'Connor. "Through 'Love Your Block,' we're partnering with local organizations to support projects that improve public spaces, address blight, and create new neighborhood assets. These investments strengthen our communities and help make Pittsburgh every family's first choice."

This year's program also incorporated the City's newly revamped Adopt-A-Lot program by providing additional consideration for projects that activate City-owned vacant lots. This partnership helps community organizations transform underutilized land into neighborhood assets and expand the impact of neighborhood-led revitalization efforts.

Awardees will complete their projects over the coming months, with grant funding provided through a reimbursement process upon project completion.
