Lockers of Love: A Fundraising Event for the Woman2Woman Grieving Mothers Initiative

In Partnership with the Northside Partnership Project

Pittsburgh, PA – The Woman2Woman (W2W) Grieving Mothers Initiative invites the community to join together in compassion, remembrance, love, unity, and hope at its upcoming Lockers of Love fundraising event, held in partnership with the Northside Partnership Project. The event will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Northside Partnership Project, 2610 Maple Avenue, Northside, PA 15214.

The Lockers of Love event will feature Mayor Ed Gainey and guest speakers, including community leaders and mothers who have lost children to gun violence. The day will center on honoring the strength of women whose lives have been deeply affected by loss, while promoting healing and community solidarity.

“A safe, welcoming, and thriving Pittsburgh begins with caring for those who are hurting,” said Mayor Ed Gainey. “When a mother loses a child, her entire world changes, but when the community surrounds her with love and support, we help her begin to heal. When we help mothers heal, they can, in turn, help their surviving children and strengthen the entire community. That is how we build a city rooted in empathy and hope.”

The Lockers of Love campaign aims to support mothers in the W2W group by providing personal lockers at the Northside Partnership Project — spaces where they can honor and remember their loved ones. Each mother will have the opportunity to decorate her locker as a tribute to her child’s life and legacy. Community members, businesses, and organizations are invited to sponsor a locker, fostering a visible and lasting symbol of remembrance, awareness, and connection.

Attendees will experience a day of reflection and inspiration, featuring poignant speeches, local vendors, and opportunities to engage with community organizations dedicated to supporting families affected by gun violence. In-person donations will be accepted throughout the event.

The Lockers of Love initiative represents more than a fundraiser. It is a movement to create a nurturing environment where grieving mothers can heal and find renewed purpose.  Together, we can help mothers rebuild their strength and remind every grieving parent that they are not alone.
