Published on June 02, 2025

DOMI - City Seal

Pittsburgh, PA – Starting Monday, June 2, the Boulevard of the Allies will be closed at Parkview Avenue as part of a major reconstruction of the intersection. The project is expected to last 2–3 months, after which the intersection will reopen to traffic.

Drivers wishing to access Parkview Avenue will be detoured via Dawson Street and Oakland Square. Signage will be in place to guide road users through the detour.

Construction Phases

Pittsburgh, PA –

The project will be completed in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Construction will occur on the east side of the intersection. During this time, southbound drivers on Parkview Avenue will be able to turn right onto Boulevard of the Allies.
  • Phase 2: Construction will shift to the west side. In this phase, southbound drivers must either continue through the intersection or turn north on Parkview Avenue, as right turns onto the Boulevard will be restricted.

This intersection redesign is a key component of the ongoing Charles Anderson Memorial Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which is scheduled to reopen to traffic in 2026.
