City of Pittsburgh Launches Phase 2 of OneStopPGH Insights Tool to Empower Residents with Enhanced Transparency

Pittsburgh, PA – The City of Pittsburgh is excited to announce the launch of Phase 2 of the OneStopPGH Insights Tool, an enhanced interactive mapping platform that increases transparency and gives residents easy access to essential information about development, permitting, and public infrastructure in their neighborhoods.

Developed in collaboration with multiple city departments, the Insights Tool brings together a wide range of datasets into one user friendly platform. Residents can explore detailed records and workflows related to city projects, construction permits, and safety regulations, all in one place.

"This is more than just a map. It's a window into how the city works," said Mayor Ed Gainey. "By bringing all these datasets together in one tool, we're making it easier than ever for residents to understand what's happening around them, participate in local government, and hold us accountable."

Key Features of Phase 2 Include:

  • Interactive mapping of all Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) permits, including construction and utility permits previously unavailable in Phase 1.
  • Real-time updates to track new and ongoing projects in your neighborhood.
  • Integration with the Application Guidance webpage for detailed permit information and the Traffic Obstruction Map for up-to-date road and sidewalk closures.

The Insights Tool was created through a cross-departmental collaboration between:

  • Department of City Planning (DCP): Supporting sustainable, equitable development
  • Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI): Managing safe, accessible public rights-of-way
  • Permits, Licenses, and Inspections (PLI): Enforcing safety and building standards
  • Department of Public Works (DPW): Maintaining a clean and environmentally responsible city.
