City of Pittsburgh Cooling Centers Extended Thru Friday, July 17, 2026

Pittsburgh, PA – As the current heat wave continues in Pittsburgh, CitiParks has extended Cooling Center activation through Friday, July 17, 2026. 

Providing residents with a safe, air-conditioned environment to escape the heat; the following six CitiParks Healthy Active Living Centers will continue Cooling Center operations Friday, July 17 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. 

Beechview Healthy Active Living Community Center  

1555 Broadway Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15216  

Greenfield Healthy Active Living Community Center  

745 Greenfield Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15217  

Homewood Healthy Active Living Community Center  

7321 Frankstown Road  

Pittsburgh, PA 15208  

Mt. Washington Healthy Active Living Community Center

122 Virginia Avenue

Pittsburgh, PA  15211

This location will be a temporary Cooling Center, as the Mt. Washington Carnegie Library is currently closed.

Sheraden Healthy Active Living Community Center  

720 Sherwood Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15204 

South Side Healthy Active Living Community Center  

12th & Bingham Streets  

Pittsburgh, PA 15203 

All residents are encouraged to take precautions during periods of extreme heat, especially older adults, young children, and those with underlying health conditions.  

Note: CitiParks and the City of Pittsburgh will typically activate cooling centers when the forecasted highs are predicted to be above 90 degrees.
